Allows heatsink fan to mount your processor properly, reducing the risk of a crushed core. Anodized Aluminum shim for higher quality and tolerances. AMD anodized shims go through four manufacturing processes before they are anodized, so they don't conduct electricity. They fit ALL AMD Socket A based processor cores, including Athlon, Duron, Palomino, Morgan, and Spitfire. CPU spacers help preventing the cracking of CPU cores while installing the heatsink, and help distribute weight evenly over the core surface. They can be viewed as cheap insurance for overclockers who change cooling solutions frequently.
